With the launch of the Forum section, the adoption of the internationally recognised double-blind peer-review system, and compliance with a series of requirements established by AIDEA, since 18 June 2009 Bancaria has officially been included among the Italian scientific journals accredited by the Italian Academy of Business Administration, becoming the first banking and finance journal to receive this important recognition.
The AIDEA initiative identifies journals that already meet internationally recognised quality editorial standards, based on 15 accreditation requirements. The purpose of the process is to safeguard the role of Italian journals in disseminating scientific research and to prevent our leading scholars from choosing to submit their work exclusively to international journals.
In 2015, Bancaria was granted the status of scientific journal by ANVUR (the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research), recognising it as a leading journal for Italian scholars in Business Administration.
ANVUR’s recognition confirms Bancaria as a leading scientific journal in the field of Business Administration. Its published articles are recognised as valid scientific outputs for the purposes of evaluating academic research in Italy, including the main assessment exercises managed by ANVUR, such as the VQR. The recognition also strengthens the journal’s role as a forum for disseminating studies and research in economics, banking and finance.
In 2023, Bancaria achieved the highest recognition in the AIDEA Journal Ranking, receiving a Q1 classification with a score of 90. This result places the journal among Italy’s leading scientific publications in banking and finance. Only two Italian journals in the sector reached this level: Bancaria and the Journal of Financial Management, Markets and Institutions (JFMMI), the official journal of ADEIMF.
