This study employs a content analysis of international research, with particular emphasis on articles authored by Chinese scholars, to elucidate the strengths and weaknesses of various regulatory approaches. It finds that in China more stringent regulations enhance transparency, while the lack of uniform standards generates uncertainty among practitioners. This emphasises the need for a clear and well-defined regulatory framework to provide valuable guidance to policymakers and support financial practitioners in developing sustainable credit instruments, thereby contributing to the sustainable transition of businesses.
