A proposal to simplify and improve European banking and financial regulation. The Less is More report

On 10 February 2025, the report «Less is More. Proposals to simplify and improve European rule-making in the financial sector» was presented. It is the result of work begun more than two years ago by a group of experts from several European Union countries. The report analyses the changes observed in the processes for producing European rules aimed at regulating the banking and financial sector and analyses their causes and consequences, including those on the competitiveness of the industry, and formulates proposals aimed at simplifying and improving the quality and stability of the European regulatory framework without promoting deregulation and fragmentation of the financial market.
