The recent inflationary pressures, combined with the reversal of the Ecb's monetary policy, have a significant impact on the operations and on the balance sheets of Italian banks. The aim of the paper is to analyse and understand the main effects of inflation and rising interest rates on the main aggregates of the bank's balance sheet, looking at the degree of intensity of the impacts, and to the timing of their realization and observability. The analysis looks at the characteristic items of the bank's balance sheet, together with the reading of the latest data of the main Italian banking groups.
